PATHWAYS Ice Breaker – Training Module

Test Drive The New PATHWAYS Ice Breaker Training Module

Pathways - Ice Breaker Training Module

by Keith Maderer, DTM – Club Growth Director, District 65

Now we can all experience what the New Toastmasters PATHWAYS learning experience will look like.

Club Officers and mentors can now use this great tool to help prepare new members for their Ice Breaker speech project. It is very well laid out with some great worksheets, video content and a progress evaluation.

Even if you are already a DTM, take it for a test drive. I know I learned something new each time I reviewed it. I bet you will too.

Theme:  Climbing the Stairs to Success – Our goal is to provide tools that will enable you to continue to grow successfully on your Toastmasters journey.

Personal Growth:  Personal growth is critical. It could be improving self-awareness and/or self-knowledge, building or renewing identity/self-esteem, developing strengths or talents, and identifying or improving potential as well as fulfilling aspirations. Personal growth almost always starts with a self-assessment to become more aware of our own needs.  Relative to Toastmasters what does that personal growth look like?

Social Growth:  Equally important as understanding our own needs is the ability and need to meet and interact with others.  Social growth is a process. Our own feelings and growth are often developed and influenced by interacting with others, learning to understand group dynamics, and often modifying our own behavior, when we choose to model behavior of others we may aspire to be. By attending conferences, training and other District events, we are able to meet new friends/colleagues, and learn or improve our social and networking skills.

Leadership Growth: As our leadership skills emerge, it is important to know our leadership style and your own desires in the workplace, with family, etc. Our leadership sessions will give you tools to assess your leadership skills, how to better take advantage of the Toastmasters leadership modules and tools, and to translate your leadership skills to the workplace.
