Proxy Votes Matter: Why Your Club’s Voice Counts at the Annual Business Meeting

As District leaders, one of our key responsibilities is to extend the voice of our clubs at the Annual Business Meeting on August 22, 2025.

This year, besides the election of new International Officers and Directors, Toastmasters clubs will vote on 8 proposals that will help steer Toastmasters International, both here and throughout the world. Clubs in good standing hold two votes, and those votes count!

To ensure your club’s voice is heard it’s critical that your club assigns a proxyholder to vote on its behalf, and I encourage you to assign your vote to the District 65 Director.

Why Choose the District Director?

As your District Director, I am actively invested in the goals of our clubs, and assigning me as your proxy will benefit you and your club as follows:

  • Informed Voting: I have read and reviewed all proposals and candidates to ensure our vote reflects our collective interests.
  • Reliable Participation: I am committed to attending the Annual Business Meeting at Convention, ensuring that your club’s vote is cast on-site and live.
  • Trusted Advocacy: With the District’s support, I will cast votes that align to the long-term benefit of our District and our local clubs.

As part of the election process, I have dedicated up to 30 minutes per candidate – interviewing over 20 candidates, including floor candidates not mentioned on the website!  I will also meet them face-to-face at the Convention in Philadelphia to discuss timely issues that are pertinent to Toastmasters and District 65 members.

How to Assign Your Proxy

Encourage your Club President or Secretary, to follow these steps:

  • Log in to toastmasters.org with your email and password.
  • Click on Club Proxy & Voting Instructions and select your club.
  • Assign your club’s proxy to the District Director.
  • Ensure this is completed between July 10 and August 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

If you have any questions about assigning your proxy or about this year’s proposals, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]
